Ottawa, september 28, 2016– Video Relay Service launch in Canada
On September 28, 2016 the Canadian national Video Relay Service was officially opened to deaf users. The inauguration took place at the Canadian Museum of history in the presence of the Chairman of CRTC Jean-Pierre Blais, the Minister for Sport and Disabled people Carla Qualtrough. IVèS is very pleased to participate in this historic event by providing the technical platform and customer service. The relay center (SRV) allows Canadian deaf users to call in all the countries in LSQ (Langue des Signes Quebecoise) or ASL (American Language of signs).
Deaf people who communicate in ASL or ASL can register online www.srvcanadavrs.ca. The deaf user then receives its own phone number that he uses whenever he call or when a hearing will call him.
